One of Italy's oldest theaters
It was the first Italian opera house to be built with superposed tiers of boxes. It is the theatre where Antonio Meucci, who was employed there as a stage technician, invented an acoustic system based on a mechanical device to communicate with his colleagues during the change of scenes. The first telephone in history was created in one of Italy’s temples of opera music: a magical place, rich in history and timeless stories.
