Unmissable Art exhibitions in Tuscany 2025

1. “Daniel Buren: Fare, Disfare, Rifare” - Palazzo Buontalenti, Pistoia. French conceptual artist Daniel Buren, renowned for his site-specific architectural installations, presents a selection of paintings created between 1965 and 2000, along with more recent light art and some pieces created specifically for the spaces of Palazzo Buontalenti. From 8 March to 27 July 2025. 2. “Jacob Hashimoto: Path to the Sky” - Complesso Santa Maria della Scala, Siena. Jacob Hashimoto’s dynamic installations and sculptures blend modernism with traditional Japanese craftsmanship, using unconventional materials such as bamboo kites, paper, enamelled cubes, and boat models. The result is an abstract art reminiscent of fragmented and layered tapestries. The exhibition unfolds between the Corticella and the internal passage  of the Complesso Santa Maria della Scala from 22 May to 28 September.

3. “Davide Stucchi: Light Lights” - Pecci Center, Prato. The first solo exhibition of the contemporary artist, showing large sculptures inspired by the theme of light. The title, which can be translated as Light Lights, exploits the ambiguity of the term “light” to express the subtle irony with which Stucchi approaches art making. A lightness that is only apparent, challenging the gravity of contemporary art through gestures that are minimal but dense with meaning. May 30 through Sept. 8. 4. “Dinosaurs” - Museum of Natural History, University of Pisa. Ready to meet the dinosaurs? Dinosaurs come back to life in a truly must-see exhibition for young and old alike! More than twenty life-size reconstructions - some even animated - are waiting for you for an exciting journey into the prehistoric world. You can get a close look at the Spinosaurus swimming in pursuit of a giant fish, the Oviraptor protecting its eggs, and the Terizinosaurus with fluffy feathers but scary claws! Plus... the mythical Tyrannosaurus rex in motion:  an exciting encounter, an adventure for the whole family! February 14, 2025 to February 15, 2026.
